EnVyUs have come out on top of Group C at the WESG European & CIS Finals, while Virtus.pro finished in fourth place without a single victory.
The French team, who are attending the event with FaZe backup member Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey as a stand-in, secured the top spot in the group following a 16-12 win over Russia in the final round of fixtures.
Despite the defeat, Denis "seized" Kostin's side still finished in second place, one point ahead of the group's other high-profile mix team, Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans's Belgium, who had in Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom their star player as the EnVyUs talent averaged a 1.16 Rating.
It was business as usual for EnVyUs, who are through to the quarter-finals
The biggest surprise of the group came in the elimination of Virtus.pro, who finished outside the top three following draws against Russia and Envy, and a defeat against Belgium. With nothing at stake in their final match against GameAgents, the EPICENTER runners-up put in another below-par performance but still managed to come back from a 14-5 deficit to tie up the game at 15-15.
Below you can find the final standings of Group C:
1. Envy - Quarter-finals + World Finals spot 2. Russia - Promotion stage + World Finals spot 3. Belgium - Promotion stage + World Finals spot 4. Virtus.pro 5. GameAgents
The WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals, which are taking place in Barcelona, will continue shortly with Group D, headlined by fnatic and AGO.
